Office Admin Assistant (Part Time)

We have an exciting opportunity for a new member to join our small, established, award winning architectural practice based in Hathersage in the Peak District. We are looking for an enthusiastic new member of the team, with an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing running of the practice, through in-house admin support.

The position is part-time (Approx. 10 hours/week) with a possibility of that increasing in the future. Flexible working possible. Office is next to Hathersage village school, so would be ideally suited for someone looking for work around school hours, which can be tailored to drop-off/pick up from school.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Administration such as typing, transcription, filing, copying, etc.

  • Taking inbound and outbound calls.

  • Managing, filing and responding to emails.

  • Producing documents such as reports, invoices, certificates, etc. within set deadlines.

  • Preparing appointment and other professional documentation.

  • Updating and maintaining project tasks for each member of the team, under the instruction of the director.

  • Managing social media feeds.


Candidates must:

  • Be reliable and punctual.

  • Friendly and personable.

  • Have a good work ethic, an attention to detail and have a high standard of work.

  • Be able to work well in a team.

  • Be interested a long-term position - We are looking for someone who wants to "learn the ropes" in the business and become an experienced and integral part of the team.

  • Be competent in English, Maths and ICT and have the necessary experience or qualifications to show this.

  • Speak English fluently.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Experience/knowledge of software such as Quickbooks, Asana, etc. favourable, but not essential and can be taught on the job.

Location and contract details:

  • Part-time post (Approx. 10 hours/week).

  • Full, paid holiday allowance (pro-rata).

  • Flexible work arrangements - subject to agreement, work hours may be split over two or three days, but following a regular schedule.

  • The firm is based in Hathersage, Hope Valley, Derbyshire, 15 minute commute from Sheffield, so an ideal candidate would live within 10 miles or be prepared to relocate. Being a car driver is not essential.

  • Position is office-based, in Hathersage.


Salary: £18,525 (pro-rata)
Start Date: April 2022.
